Description

Regupol E48 is an acoustic layer of recycled tyre crumb that sits beneath any type of floor screed with the goal of isolating the screed from the rest of the structure. This isolation results in a reduction of impact noise from footfall and heavy items such as hospital beds or supermarket cages. Approved by the NHBC for Part E Building Regulations compliance, Regupol E48 was also indepently tested by UKAS and ANC approved bodies for the same compliance.

Dimpled on one side, this under-screed acoustic flooring roll is compatible with beam and block floors with or without underfloor heating. There’s no need for separate perimeter strips to finish the installation and throughout its life Regupol E48 won’t creep or collapse under areas of high loads. It’s certified for a maximum load bearing capacity of 30 kN/m2.

Resulting in a minimal construction height thanks to an 8mm thick manufacture, Regupol E48 acoustic flooring is most commonly used in hospitals, supermarkets, schools, hotels and other commercial businesses.

APPLICATION

Ideally suited where superior and cost effective impact sound control is required.
  • Apartments,
  • Schools,
  • Hospitals,
  • Hotels,
  • Libraries
  • Supermarkets

INSTALLATION

  • It is important that the base floor is clean (free from loose dirt and concrete dust). Flat (within National Building Standards +5mm over a 5m span) and where possible, dry.
  • Unwind each roll where it is to be installed and leave it for a few hours before measuring or cutting to length. When the product is rolled up it stretches slightly.
  • Lay dimple side down.
  • Use a sharp craft knife and straight edge for cutting to size.
  • Position the Regupol Corner Pieces into each of the internal corners, with the bottom folds laid flat on the sub-floor for stability purposes.
  • Allow for the 100mm upturn at each end. Cut a 230mm x 230mm square piece from the roll in the corner that will overlap the corner piece.
  • Move the roll to overlap the Corner Piece and turn it up each wall by 100mm.
  • Ensure that all overlapping edges are taped with Regupol tape.
  • Overlap all joints (both along and across the roll) by at least 50mm and tape all joints using Regupol tape.
  • Turn up edges at walls to ensure the screed will not touch the walls and is of sufficient length to lap under the wall linings and skirtings.
  • Lay a waterproof membrane, minimum of 0.2mm thick over the entire area.  This must be overlapped by at least 100mm and must also cover the upturned edges.
  • All joints must be taped to prevent movement during the casting process.
