What is an Acoustic Slab?

The acoustic slab is a more densely manufactured mineral wool slab than any other type of insulation. The slabs have a U-value, which ensures that they have both thermal and sound insulation. Acoustic slab insulation is made from mineral wool with non-directional fibre orientation and high density, meaning sound waves are trapped also helping keep the heat in, but also the cold out, maintaining a comfortable indoor environment by protecting against fluctuations in outside temperature.

With a thermal conductivity of 0.034W/mK – 0.035W/mK, this acoustic slab insulation product is designed to provide insulation on walls, ceilings, and floors. All the insulation slabs we stock have a Euro Class A1 fire classification. This ensures that the sound insulation slabs are non-combustible and will not contribute to the spread of fire.
