Optim-R and Optim-R E are high-performance insulation products that originated for use in various building implementations. These products use advanced technology and materials that provide superior thermal performance and energy efficiency, making them ideal for modern, sustainable construction projects.
What is Vacuum Panel Insulation?
Optim-R and Optim-R E are both vacuum insulation panels (VIPs), meaning they use a highly efficient insulation material encased in a gas-tight envelope. The envelope is then cleared out of the air to create a vacuum, significantly reducing the heat transmitted through the insulation. VIP panels are substantially more effective at insulating buildings than traditional insulation such as fibreglass or foam.
What is the Difference between Optim-R and Optim-R E Panels?
Optim-R systems comprise vacuum insulation panels (VIPs) and PIR infill boards. Please note: ONLY The infill boards can be cut to fit around problem areas such as roof lights, ventilator kerbs or drainage gutters.
The OPTIM-R E Inverted Roofing System – is coated to enhance durability and facilitate handling during installation. It includes vacuum insulation panels and rigid extruded polystyrene insulation infill panels that can be trimmed to fit around challenging features like roof lights or ventilator kerbs.
How much do Optim-R and Optim-R E panels cost?
Both systems are labelled POA (price n application) and can be priced approximately within 24 – 42 hours based on provided information such as:
- Application
- The thickness of the panels
- U-values to achieve
- An image of the bird’s eye view project plan.
Please note: After the payment is complete, you will need drawings from the architect to attach to the quotation form. Kingspan specialists will then begin working on your bespoke installation guidance based on your actual project drawings, which are essential when pricing this premium insulation.
Where to use Vaccum Insulated panels?
The custom product Optim-R is applicable in several architectural applications. They are often used in floors and roofs, with Optim-R E providing applications for the roofing systems, and used in both new construction and rehabilitation projects. They can be used in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings and are best x for applications where there is a need for more space. To fulfil the different building types’ individual requirements for thermal performance, the panels are supplied in a range of thicknesses.
How to install Optim-R panels?
Quickly and effectively, the panel layout will be created and prepared for validation and client sign-off. Every plan will show the dimensions, quantity, and placement of the Kingspan OPTIM-R panels. Additionally, it will show the size, quantity, and placement of any necessary Kingspan OPTIM-R flex infill strips.
