What is 25mm PIR insulation?
The 25mm PIR insulation on our website is usually available as boards or sheets. The material is produced using polyisocyanurate in a complex chemical process to yield a rigid foam that is moulded into what we call 25mm PIR boards. The most distinctive physical characteristic of these boards is their thickness of 25mm. Some of their outstanding properties beyond what you see are their high moisture resistance and high thermal resistance.
What are 25mm PIR used for?
Extremely versatile, 25mm PIR insulation sheets are used to prevent heat loss in buildings. They are ideal for insulating internal walls, various types of floors, and roofs. You can install 25mm PIR boards in a new building or during renovations.

FAQ
How can I compare different 25mm PIR boards?
Each 25mm board sold on our website comes with a data sheet outlining its technical specifications. We also include the UK Declaration of Performance report for each product. Click Product Documents under each model to access these documents, and then compare the details to note any differences.
How to cut 25mm PIR insulation?
You’ll need a saw or knife to cut a 25mm PIR insulation board. Experts at insulationwholesale.co.uk recommend using a sharp cutting tool to achieve a clean cut. Before cutting the board, measure the space where you will install it. Next, measure and mark the board to ensure you get a tight fit. Then go ahead and cut along the markings to get even results. Make sure to wear gloves, a mask, and goggles to protect yourself from the resulting debris, which can irritate the skin or affect the respiratory system when inhaled.
How much 25mm PIR insulation do I need?
This depends on the size of the space to be insulated. To determine how many 25mm PIR boards you’ll need, measure the space you plan to insulate. Add 10-15% for cuts and the bits you’ll fit around obstacles. Divide this by the PIR board coverage, which is determined by the size of the board. Many of the 25mm PIR insulation sheets on our website are 2400mm (L) by 1200mm (W).
