VCLs are designed for use on the inside (warm side) of insulated buildings to manage the flow of water vapour, which is a natural by-product of normal building use. Without the use of these membranes within the construction, there is a significant risk of condensation within the building structure, potentially leading in the long-term to building damage, and in the short term to substantially increased heating and cooling costs. As little as 3% moisture deposited within the buildingās insulation, has been shown to negatively affect insulation performance by up to one third.
This product also performs the additional task of an air-leakage barrier, to prevent losses due to unwanted convection flows.
