Knauf Soundshield Plus is the ideal plasterboard where sound reduction is particularly important. Its high mass and tuned core give an enhanced acoustic performance, excellent fire resistance and severe duty impact rating when used as part of a Knauf Performer, Isolator or Silent Spacesaver partition system.
This multifunctional board enables partition wall performance requirements to be met without the need for secondary products.
When used as part of a Knauf system, Soundshield Plus will give up to 120 minutes of fire protection and up to 54 Db (Rw) acoustic sound reduction. This performance is fully tested and backed with a Knauf System Performance Warranty, providing warranties for the building and peace of mind for the client.
12.5mm – Compliance (to BS EN 520 Classification): Type A & D
15.0mm – Compliance (to BS EN 520 Classification): Type A, D, F & I
Reaction to fire: The National Classification is “Limited combustibility” but the European Classification is rated as “A2”.

Application
The combined performance characteristics of the board make it ideal for use in high traffic areas such as schools, corridors and hospitals.
The board should be installed using Knauf Performance Plus screws and can be finished using the full range of Knauf jointing and finishing products including Knauf Airless Finishes.
Soundshield Plus can be recycled with other gypsum products.
